If you look around on the web or in a specialty sewing store (not your neighborhood JoAnn's or Hancock, although you may find some), you will find some of the most amazing Independent pattern design companies. Their designs are unique, and often, their patterns provide just that extra something to make your project more tailored to "you."
Here are a few Indie baby and baby accessory patterns I am considering making:
Have you sewn any of these?

Looks like some good patterns! I didn't start sewing until my second was a couple of months old, so I didn't make my accessories with my first two babies. But now I'm about 11 weeks pregnant with my third and might just try to make some of my stuff. I downloaded the free pattern and tutorial for Piccoli Piselli's Pea Pod Carrier (http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2010/10/october-12-the-pea-pod-hip-carrier-tutorial-the-red-pistachio-giveaway/), and want to give it a try this time around. Once baby outgrows the Bjorn and sling, I prefer a hip carrier.
ReplyDeleteI have the Growing up Sew Liberated book also, and there are some great baby patterns in it. Might try out a few of those too!
Great ideas! I will definitely check those out!
